Warwick Lions on the prowl for new volunteers

Leamington Editorial 4th Jun, 2017   0

LION-HEARTED individuals are being sought to lend a paw in the community.

Lions Clubs International marks its centennial anniversary this year and Warwick Lions Club is looking for new recruits to continue its legacy.

Warwick Lions has served the community for over 50 years holding fundraising events, assisting the needy and organising social activities.

Lion President Geoff Wiskin said: “Lions are people who are interested in freely engaging in their local community and helping those in need. Being a Lion allows you to help others in a way that no one person could do on their own.”

“Lions benefit from the experience of helping others and enriching their own lives in the process.”

Already this year the club have arranged a town-wide charity Easter egg raffle, assisted Marie Curie’s Daffodil appeal and recently stepped in to raise money for a burgled children’s education centre in Warwick.

The Lions meet twice monthly on the first and third Wednesdays at The Warwick Arms Hotel, and are always keen to welcome new members.
