A FOUR-year-old pre-schooler from Warwick is hoping to raise £2,000 for a special cause with a sponsored first haircut.

Heidi Webster, who’s never had her hair cut before, has been fundraising for The Little Princess Trust during February, ahead of her inaugural cut on February 28.

The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.

Heidi has already raised over £1,400, which pays for two wigs to be made, fitted and styled, free of charge, for a child or young person.

The hair from her cut will also be donated to the charity to make wigs from.

Lydia Webster, Heidi’s mother and a former hairdresser, said: “From the day she was born, Heidi’s always had a great head of hair.

“Over the last four years we’ve let it grow, but we wanted her to experience her first cut before she starts school in September.

“We thought that fundraising for The Little Princess Trust, and donating her hair, would be a fantastic thing to do, and a great way to help other children and young people.

“Heidi’s done brilliantly with her fundraising so far, but if we could hit over £2,000, that would be incredible.

“The whole family is so proud of Heidi, and we’re excited for the special cut at the end of the month.”

The Little Princess Trust has helped more than 20,000 children and young people with their free wig service.

Wendy Tarplee-Morris, founder of The Little Princess Trust, added: “We know our wigs help to restore children’s confidence and bring some normality back to their lives when so much is changing.

“But we can only provide this free wig service thanks to some very special people like Heidi who donate their hair and raise valuable funds for us.

“We are so grateful to Heidi and all her friends and family for their fantastic support – and I would like to thank them all for their brilliant efforts.”
