RESIDENTS living in All Saints and Woodloes ward in Warwick are reminded of the availability of audio ballot papers ahead of the town council by-election on Thursday (February 26).
Audio ballot papers allow voters to hear and download an audio description of the ballot paper, from their smartphone, or through a QR code. This is in addition to the tactile voting devices, large and handheld magnifiers, colour overlays and large print ballot papers that the council has in place at polling stations.
Chris Elliott, chief executive and returning officer, said: “We aim to support all eligible residents to vote independently. This audio feature will support people when completing their ballot paper and represents a significant step forward in making our polling stations and voting process as accessible as possible.”
Full details of the accessibility measures available at polling stations can be found on the Warwick District Council website.
