FROM football matches to colour runs, Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service has activities lined-up for all the family this summer.
Residents will be able to meet their local firefighters, learn about fire safety, and enjoy a day of fun-filled activities for all ages at events across the county.
A football tournament and family fun day is being held at the Home Guard Club in Tiddington on Saturday July 12 from 10am until 2pm. The fire service’s own footy team will take on opponents from around the region including JLR, Heathcote Athletic and Kenilworth Town. There will also be ice-cream, refreshment stalls and a bouncy castle.
A Ladies Day is lined up at The Piston Club in Stratford on July 19 from 9am until 3pm. This will be a day dedicated to road safety and wellbeing, with support from the Biker Down partnership.
On the same day, between 11am and 3pm there will be a WFRS colour run at Rugby Free Secondary School. Participants can complete a mile run and there will also be refreshments, stalls and other activities to keep the whole family entertained.
And open days will be held at Southam Fire Station on August 2 from 10am until 4pm and Stratford Fire Station on August 23 from 12pm until 5pm.
WCC’s fire and rescue service spokesperson Coun Dale Bridgewater said: “These summer events are a fantastic way for our communities to connect with Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service. They offer a unique opportunity to meet the teams from the service, learn about fire safety and enjoy a day of fun for the whole family. I encourage everyone to come along, get involved, and find out more about the range of work involved in keeping Warwickshire safe.”
