Warwickshire firefighters kitted out with a new look

Leamington Editorial 18th Aug, 2018   0

FIREFIGHTERS in Warwickshire are sporting a new look.

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service has kitted out crews with improved protective gear designed to be lighter, and closer fitting to give firefighters greater movement and flexibility.

And a new high visibility tunic will be used at road traffic incidents and at some fires to improve safety.

The new design follows similar roll-outs at fire and rescue services across the region and is based on feedback from crew members.

Station commander Andy Thompson said: “All personnel have now been fitted out and have received their new kit. Crews will start using it to attend to incidents during August.

“The upgrade forms part of our ongoing commitment to enhance our equipment and ensures that our firefighters can operate with greater ease to protect the communities of Warwickshire.”
