THE FUTURE of Wellesbourne Airfield is the focus of a public meeting next week.
It takes place at the Charlecote Pheasant Hotel on Wednesday October 23, starting at 7pm.
Fears have been raised over the future of flying at the historic airfield which started operating during the second World War.
Stratford District Council is currently looking to make a Compulsory Purchase Order from long time owners Littler Investments.
The owner has long wanted to sell the airfield to housing developers and the agreement followed a lengthy court battle to allow businesses – including two flying schools, a cafe and an aeroplane workshop – to get their tenancies renewed.
The tenants lost the original case in June last year, and then a further appeal in March.
