Witnesses sought to a peculiar incident in Warwick

WITNESSES are being sought to a peculiar incident in Myton Road, Warwick on Friday (March 3).

An unknown man is reported to have walked into the road, leading to two cars colliding with one another close to the junction with Banbury Road.

And while details were being exchanged, a second man is understood to have approached them and shown a small black wallet stating he was an off-duty police officer.

He then looked into one of the vehicles before both he and the man who walked into the middle of the road left separately towards Banbury Road.




The man who stated he was an off-duty police officer is described as white, with a dark beard and around 5 foot 7 inches tall.

He was thought to be wearing a black cap and black Parka-style jacket.


Enquiries are ongoing and Warwickshire Polcie is keen to speak to anyone who was travelling along the road between 12.45pm and 1.05pm.

Officers would also like anyone who has mobile phone or dashcam footage or anyone who witnessed the collision and the aftermath to come forward.
