YOUNGSTERS can now enjoy a new play area at Leamington’s Foundry Wood.
Fundraising over the last year and a grant from the Suez Communities Trust has resulted in a play area at the entrance of the woodland on the site of the former Ford foundry.
And visitors can also enjoy the ‘habitat’ area which features carved oak benches – one in a curled leaf design and the other to look like a stag beetle.
Chair of Friends Foundry Wood, Kristie Naimo, said: “Visitors to the woodland have been enjoying the new climbing frame.
“We are pleased to see the new play area and the benches have already resulted in people spending longer in the woodland.
“It’s so important for our mental health and wellbeing to spend time outdoors.”
