Youngsters follow the yellow brick road to raise £1,000 for Myton Hospice

THIS group of friends went off to see the wizard – and raised £1,000 for Myton Hospice along the way.

Six year-old Newburgh School pupil Ethan Flint was so inspired after a school talk about the hospice that he decided to raise some money for the charity himself.

He enlisted the help of his four year-old sister Emily and their friends to put on a performance of The Wizard of Oz at the Playbox Theatre, with Ethan playing the Tin Man.

He said: “I wanted to help Myton Hospice because that’s a nice thing to do when you care about other people.

“I wanted to raise £500 and I’m really proud of myself for raising more. We’re thinking about doing Alice in Wonderland soon.”
