ANGLING - Darts superstar Luke Litter to feature in Fishing Championship charity event in Warwick

DARTS superstar Luke Littler will swap arrows for angling later this summer in this year’s Target Sport Stars Fishing Championship in Warwick.

The one-day charity fishing event will take place at Tunnel Barn Farm with Littler heading a list of top sports stars who will feature in the tournament.

Littler recently won the World Cup of Darts representing England and also counts two World Championships and two Premier League titles among his honours in the sport at the age of 19-year-old.

‘The Nuke’ has competed in each of the last two Fishing Championships and features in a 32-strong field split into eight teams of four.

Legendary promoter Barry Hearn, former world champion boxer Tony Bellew and former England goalkeeper David Seaman will also take part in the charity competition.

Event organiser and chairman of JBD Media and Events, Jess Harding said: “The Target Sport Stars Fishing Championship 2026 is a much-loved event that is getting bigger and bigger every year.

“We’re privileged that titans from the sporting world want to get stuck in, and although it’s a fun charity event, the competitors are used to operating at an elite level – everyone wants to win.

“The beauty of fishing is that anyone can take part and has a chance of reeling something in, particularly at our competition lake.

“Last year, someone who had never fished before won the singles title – that’s why we love it.”

Matchroom Sport chairman, Hearn added: “Everyone who knows me, knows I love to win.

“The competition at the Target Sport Stars Fishing Championship 2026 gets fiercer every single year.”

The event will raise £40,000 for charity with the fund shared with the competition’s lead charity partner The Willow Foundation, established by former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson.

The competition will also support the St Francis Hospice, Haven House, the Ricky Hatton Foundation and Alex – The Leukodystrophy Charity.

Founder of the Willow Foundation, Wilson said: “We’re extremely grateful that the team at Target Sport Stars Fishing Championship continues to support the vital work of the Willow Foundation.

“The event brings together some of the biggest names from the world of sport and we thank all the competitors and sponsors in creating this ’special day’ which allows us to create our own Willow Special Days that provide hope, smiles, and an experience to remember for young adults living with life-threatening illnesses in the UK.”

ITV will broadcast the event following the completion of the tournament which takes place on Tuesday, July 28 at Tunnel Barn Farm in Warwick.
