FOOTBALL: RACING Club Warwick’s poor from of form continued on Saturday after they tasted a 3-1 defeat away at Chelmsley Town in the Midland League Division One – a third loss in four matches.
The game started brightly for the visitors and it looked like their form shown before Christmas was coming back as they moved the ball about and created chances in the opening 20 minutes on the artificial surface at Coleshill.
Youngster Zak Harbon hit two long range efforts that tested the keeper and it looked only a matter of time before Warwick scored, but it was Chelmsley who opened the scoring on 28 minutes through Karl Douglas.
The goal knocked Warwick who looked a shadow of themselves and the hosts were able to double their lead four minutes into the second half through Thomas Ellis.
Warwick pulled one goal back with 14 minutes remaining when Wade Malley converted a cross from Terence Morton but Chelmsley never looked in danger and restored their two-goal lead thanks to a late strike by Robert Ellis.
This Saturday Warwick are in league action again when they host Stafford.
