ARNOLD Lodge School pupil Freddie Draper is celebrating after winning the Coventry & Warwickshire Schools Partnership Biathlon 2014 at Warwick School.

The event was run as part of the ‘School Games’ Olympic Legacy and was one of many held across the country.

The regional one was held at Warwick School where 14 different schools took part featuring 143 pupils, of which 70 were boys and 73 girls.

The overall winner was Freddie, who also plays for Coventry City’s Academy U10s and U11s after being spotted playing for Leamington Hibernian.

Mr Grieve, head of sport at Arnold Lodge in Cubbington, said: “Freddie, who is still only nine, won the event despite being a year younger than the age limit.

“This follows on from the ‘School Games Athletics’ in which Freddie was entered a year young and still finished second overall out of 100 entrants.”
