LEAMINGTON boxer Jake Finch has qualified for the NABGCS (National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs) Elite Championships final.
Finch secured his place in the final after overcoming the experienced Ammar Khan (Hall Green ABC) on Sunday.
Against the tricky southpaw in his first fight in at 56kg, Cleary’s boxer Finch did not disappoint.
A clash of heads in the second round left Finch with a hefty bump on the top of his head.
However, he pushed on to secure a unanimous decision victory.
Head coach Edwin Cleary said: We’ve got high hopes for Jake this season.
“He’s made some big steps over the last 12 months, winning the developments and pushing on to the elite.
“Still only 19, this lad is my pick for the season.”
