Clearys fighter Cole maintains unbeaten record in Banbury at short notice

BOXING: MIKEY Cole continued his unbeaten record on Friday night in Edgbaston and has set up a homecoming fight at the Chesford Grange Hotel for an eight round title fight.

Cole had to see off Fonz Alexsander from Newark on Friday. Alexsander proved a tough durable opponent, though he gave Mikey some vital time in between round and a chance to try out new things.

Cole’s strong punching proved decisive and eventually won unanimously, though Alexsander made him work hard for the win.

Mikey was watch by Edwin Cleary’s old stable mate, former British European and Commonwealth super bantamweight champion Esham Pickering.

Elsewhere Clearys ABC boxer Josh Finch continued his development beating George Lines from Banbury ABC on his home show.

With only 48 hours notice, Josh performed well – and his hard work in the gym paid off as he made himself hard to hit while combining several key punches.

In only 16 fights, Josh has been put up against some of the very best boxers from around the UK.

Clearys’ home show on Saturday (May 20) is set to be another blockbuster event as Danny Quatermaine tops of the bill against a GB boxer.

He will be supported by a Clearys squad of champions.
