CONNOR Carson was all smiles on Sunday after winning the Raceways Summer event at Warwick University.

The Kenilworth Runner led the team home at the inaugural ten-mile event in a fast time of 57 minutes and five seconds to finish as winner.

Carson was followed home by team mate David Leadley, whose time of 1:03.13 earned him tenth place overall, while Neil Sheward was 19th in 1:06.16.

The fastest ladies runner for Kenilworth was Louise Andrews who crossed the finish line in 1:09.16. It was a new personal best (PB) time for Andrews over ten miles and saw her finish as the fifth fastest lady and she was also first in the LV35 category.

John Dagnan’s time of 1:20.28 was enough to win the V65 prize and it was another PB for Ian Baynes (1:11.49) and Debbie Streets (1:17.30).

A total of Six Spa Striders made the short trip to the first ever Raceways Summer event and it was Paul Edwards who led the Striders home after taking eighth position in 1:02.31.

Daniel Stannard finished exactly two minutes behind and Ben Parkingson was next over the finish line in 1:11.52.

For the ladies, Clare Bryan crossed the line in 1:18.54 to finished 66th overal and she was closely followed by Melissa Venables, who ran the Milton Keynes Marathon only the day before but still managed to finish 71st in a time of 1:20.17.
