Leamington Editorial 22nd Jun, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016

DEFENDING Elite League Champions Blaze have confirmed they will play four pre-season matches in preparation for the 2015/16 season.

Blaze will take on three of last season’s fellow British ice hockey winners in the shape of Nottingham Panthers, Cardiff Devils and Telford.

The Elite League Play Off Champions will open pre-season with a home fixture against Erhardt Conference Champions, Nottingham Panthers at the Skydome Arena on August 26.

They will then face a home and away series against Challenge Cup Champions, Cardiff Devils, in Cardiff on August 29 with the return leg taking place the following night (August 30).

Blaze will complete their warm up schedule with a home game against English Premier League Champions Telford Tigers.

Former Blaze star Tom Watkins will bring his high-flying Tigers to the Skydome on September 2 in what will be Blaze’s final warm-up game before the start of their Elite League campaign.

“Everyone is looking forward to the new season,” said Blaze director of hockey, James Pease.

“And this combination of games should get everyone – players and fans – ready for the season starting for real.

“Ticket information will be available in a few weeks time and we hope everyone will look forward to this great series of warm up games against Champions of British hockey.”
