OLD Leamingtonians Ladies were disappointed by their 44-14 home defeat to Bletchley.
Bletchley were quick to gain the upper hand, scoring and converting very soon after kick-off.
However, OLs rallied and came straight back with a try and conversion of their own, both scored by fly half Jen Vermeulen.
Unfortunately this proved to be something of a false start as OLs found themselves unable to cope with some strong running from Bletchley and conceded several tries, going into the break losing by 39 points to 7.
Fortunately the second half saw a vast improvement from the team in gold and blue.
OLs dominated, pinning Bletchley in their half for much of the 40 minutes and some strong tackling enabled them to neutralise Bletchley’s danger players.
OLs were justly rewarded for their efforts with another try and conversion for Vermeulen.
Bletchley bagged one final try just before the full-time whistle tom complete the scoring.
