CRICKET: HUNNINGHAM enjoyed a double winning bank holiday weekend on the road.
The club’s 1st XI played Pickwick at home and chose to bowl first after winning the toss – the inclement weather playing a big factor in the skipper’s decision.
Pickwick struggled 103 all out off 33 overs, A.Iqbal – on his birthday – starred for Hunningham with fine off spin figures of five wickets for just for 17 runs.
In reply, Hunningham were always comfortable and scored 105/5 with a superb debutant knock from Cook of 52*.
Elsewhere the 2nd team earned an easy away victory at Oakfield.
The home side were inserted into bat and were all out for 81 off just 28 overs.
Hunningham then knocked off the runs for the loss of no wicket with Bird (50*) and Staniforth (21*) doing the damage.
