IT WAS a double delight for Ardencote Manor Hotel who continue to dominate the Warwickshire leagues with both the first and second teams tasting success.

Both teams played their final matches of the summer league with the first team taking the Division One title and the second team repeated that feat in Division Two.

The first team came up against an unbeaten Coventry & North Warwickshire side and Jon Summers got the Ardencote off to the best possible start by winning both of his games.

Craig Lloyd and Pete Staunton had to go the full distance with the former taking his fifth game easily but Pete went down in a mammoth tie break in his fifth.

Guy Pearson won his rubber in the top string match to take his winning run to 80 matches but he did drop a game on a tie break.

The second team were away to Kenilworth and Ardencote skipper Nick McCusker was up against the host captain Derek Smith.

Nick came good in four and James Courier overcame Joe Faulkner in four to put Ardencote further ahead.

Craig McCusker secured the match win for Ardencote with another rubber decided over four games with Tom Perry failing to keep Kenilworth hopes alive.

The top string rubber saw Richard Lucas round off the perfect end for Ardencote with a win in straight games, but Ian McKenna pushed him hard in games one and three which could have gone either way.
