FORMER Kenilworth player James Neal has been selected for England Counties Under-20 squad for their forthcoming tour of Russia.
The 23-man squad gathered at Moseley RFC last week for the final selection day following several divisional matches earlier in the month.
The squad will travel to Moscow on June 2 where they will play two international matches at the Slava Stadium on June 5 and 8.
“Every year it’s difficult to pick 23 players from such a talented group but we’re confident in the selection process and the coaching team are feeling confident in this squad,” team manager Peter Vernon.
“We know the side will be tested by a strong Russia U20 team but we’re excited by the challenge and believe we can go there and win.”
Fifteen counties are represented in the squad, with a number of star names from the recent schools rugby past, including the likes of Connor Wilkinson (Lancashire), Ben Pointon (East Midlands), and Warwickshire’s Neal.
