Ex-teacher swaps classroom for the trophy cabinet in glowing new challenge

A TEACHER of 17 years has swapped the classroom for the trophy cabinet by taking over Leamington-based Spa Trophies.

James Allison has left his role as PE teacher at Myton School after spotting the chance to take over the Shrubland Street store.

The store now provides trophies for a wide range of occasions, from sporting events to weddings and anniversaries while also offering an engraving service.

James said: “It’s a great opportunity and something I want to get my teeth into.

“There’s little online presence at the moment, that’s something we want to change.

“Hopefully the business can grow as the months tick by. It’s certainly a new challenge compared to teaching but I’m looking forward to it.”
