LEAMINGTON suffered their heaviest defeat of the season away at Boston United last weekend before a goalless draw at home to Brackley Town in midweek ensured the Brakes failed to score for the third league game in a row.
Paul Holleran’s side were well-beaten in Lincolnshire as Boston’s Scott Pollock scored a sublime hat-trick and saw their winless run in the league extended to eight matches after the Brakes failed to find the net against Brackley at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.
The results mean Leamington have slipped to 14th in the National League North table.
It was a day to forget for the Warwickshire club at Jakemans Community Stadium as Pollock opened the scoring on 28 minutes when he intercepted Theo Streete’s weak back pass and rounded Callum Hawkins before finishing into an empty net.
And Pollock soon had his second five minutes before the break when he was quickest to react to a loose ball and drilled a shot past Hawkins after the Brakes goalkeeper had saved Jake Wright’s initial effort.
Pollock completed the scoring early in the second period on 51 minutes when he converted Jordon Crawford’s cross from the left to seal a 3-0 victory.
The loss was Leamington’s third successive defeat in all competitions whilst the draw with league leaders Brackley was their sixth in their last eight league matches having drawn a division high 11 matches this campaign.
And the Brakes lasted tasted victory in the league back in October but will be hopeful of ending that run against Farsley Celtic this weekend having thumped their upcoming opponents 4-0 on the opening day of the season.
Leamington are next in action away at Farsley on Saturday, December 10 with kick-off at 3pm at The Citadel.
