LEAMINGTON made the perfect start to the New Year with a hard-fought 2-1 home victory against Hereford.
Goals either side of half time from Dan Turner and Henry Landers earned the Brakes all three points at the Your Co-op Community Stadium.
And the result means Leamington sit 17th in the National League North table, eight points clear of the relegation zone.
The Brakes broke the deadlock after just 10 minutes when Turner looped a header into the net to score his first goal since returning to the club.
Hereford equalised early in the second half as Lawson D’Ath sent a low drive into the bottom left corner past Callum Hawkins.
However, the home side reclaimed the lead on 63 minutes when Landers dug out a shot and found the far corner after good work from Dan Meredith down the right.
Leamington are next in action against Buxton on Saturday, January 4 with kick-off at 3pm at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.
