LEAMINGTON found the net for the first time in pre-season in a 3-2 defeat against an Aston Villa XI.
Goals from Joe Clarke and Tim Berridge twice kept Leamington in the contest at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.
However, Ethan Amundsen-Day, Omar Khedr and Mason Cotcher all struck for a young Villa side as the Brakes suffered a third straight pre-season defeat.
Villa broke the deadlock on 10 minutes when Amundsen-Day sent a powerful header past Brakes goalkeeper Eddie Brearey from a corner.
Leamington drew level on 36 minutes as Clarke drove a low shot past Sam Lewis from the edge of the penalty area.
However, Villa reclaimed the lead just one minute later as Khedr saw his curling effort from distance deflect past Brearey.
And the visitors extended their lead on 52 minutes when second-half substitute Cotcher coolly lifted the ball into the net.
The Brakes reduced the deficit on 65 minutes when Berridge hooked an effort past substitute goalkeeper Ronnie Hollingshead.
Leamington are next in action against a Coventry City XI on Friday, July 18 with kick-off at 7pm at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.
