TRIALIST Dennis Halliday has become Leamington’s latest signing after impressing Brakes boss Scott Easterlow throughout pre-season, writes Jacob Scandrett.
Halliday stepped off the bench to score Leamington’s second goal against Coventry City under 21’s earlier in pre-season.
The 21-year-old has also featured in the club’s other pre-season matches and joins the squad ahead of the upcoming Southern League Premier Central campaign.
The London-born striker spent time in the youth system of West Ham United before moving to Wales to begin his senior career.
Halliday played for Newton AFC in Wales and featured for Market Drayton Town, Wolverhampton Casuals, Welwyn Garden City and Corby Town in England.
He later moved North of the border to Scotland where he featured for Scottish League One side East Fife during the second half of the previous campaign.
Halliday said:”I’m delighted to be joining the club and cant wait to get started.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the fans, working with the team, and giving everything I have to help the club achieve success this season.”
Easterlow added:”Dennis has done really well since coming in with us.
“I’m pleased to offer him a deal and look forward to working with him.
“He’s not the finished article but I believe he has something we can work with.
“This club has a rich history of propelling young forwards on to bigger and better things.
“Hopefully for us and Dennis he is the next to do that.”
