LEAMINGTON suffered Easter Weekend defeats against Bedford Town and Alfreton Town respectively.
The defeats mean the Brakes will finish the campaign bottom of the National League North table.
Leamington lost 3-1 against 10-man Bedford at the New Eyrie on Good Friday and then lost 2-1 at home against Alfreton at the Your Co-op Community Stadium on Easter Monday.
The results mean the Brakes sit bottom of the table, 12 points behind 23rd-placed Peteborough Sports with three games left to play.
Scott Easterlow’s side made the perfect start against Bedford when Max Brogan broke the deadlock after just seven minutes with a shot into the roof of the net.
However, Bedford levelled the game two minutes later as Josh Castiglione’s low drive wrong-footed Brakes goalkeeper Eddie Brearey and nestled in the bottom left corner.
And the home side completed the turnaround on 54 minutes when George Moncur blasted a shot past Brearey which left the goalkeeper with no chance.
Brearey put through his own net on 68 minutes when he fumbled a corner over the line as Bedford’s mounting pressure told.
The home side had Jack Jenkins sent off in injury time but the Brakes did not have enough time to make the extra man count.
Leamington also surrendered the lead in a home defeat against Alfreton on Easter Monday.
The Brakes opened the scoring on 28 minutes when Tyrone Lewthwaite slammed a shot past Charlie Casper following a corner.
However, Alfreton equalised on 58 minutes as Dylan Youmbi scored from the penalty spot after the same player drew a foul in the box.
And the visitors turned the game on its head on 73 minutes when Adam Lund’s high ball looped over an unsighted Brearey and into the net.
Leamington are next in action against Southport on Saturday, April 11 with kick-off at 3pm at Haig Avenue.
