TENNIS: WARWICK Boat Club is inviting potential players to come along and try out the sport while also getting the chance to me a local hero.
Marcus Willis, who played Roger Federer at last year’s Wimbledon event, will be at the club this Saturday (March 25) where he will be welcoming junior and adult players to the Mill Street club facility between 10am to 2pm.
Next Wednesday evening (March 29) from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, members from each sports section will be on hand to show visitors the facilities and give detailed information about how their sports are organised at the members’ club.
Warwick Boat Club caters for rowing, tennis, squash and bowls and is situated next to the River Avon in the shadow of Warwick Castle.
It has 11 tennis courts, two first-class squash courts, a bowling green, a thriving rowing section and social activities throughout the year.
