OLYMPIC kayakers were presented with their own medal biscuits by young sea scouts.

Rachel Cawthorn, Lani Belcher, Liam Heath and Jon Schofield joined the fun at the Warwick Sprints on the River Avon organised by the Leamington Canoe Club.

Rachel and Lani competed together in the Women’s 500m Canoe Sprint Double at the Rio Olympics and Liam and Jon paddled their way to a silver medal in the Men’s 200m Canoe Sprint Double.

The 2nd Warwick Sea Scouts presented the Olympians with their own special medal biscuits and chatting to them about what they get up to at Sea Scouts.

And members Bethany Ellis and Francis Fowler, who recently completed the Three Lakes Challenge, were eager to tell the athletes about their own kayaking efforts.

Janette Eslick from the sea scouts said: “All the Olympians were fascinated to chat to our youngsters and hear all about our recent Three Lakes Kayaking Challenge.

“It was particularly special for them to meet Jon Schofield and hear all about how he began his paddling career at Cub Scouts! The Olympians were true ambassadors for their sport.”
