TENNIS: A BUSY a week of tournament action during half-term saw plenty of success for players from Leamington Tennis and Squash Club (LTSC).

Abigail George took advantage of the school break and entered the week-long grade three regional tournament held at Tipton Sports Academy in West Bromwich.

The Leamington youngster brought home the top prize in the Under-9 girls category in what was her first ever tournament.

Fellow Leamington player Sam Parsons also took part and finished as runner-up in the under-12 age category.

Parsons also joined forces with Dylan Pillinger to compete at the grade four county level tournament in Knighton, Leicester.

The Leamington duo produced a string of excellent performances to win the under-12 doubles competition.

Pillinger also made the short trip to Coventry where took part in the grade four tournament at Beechwood and he stepped up an age category to win the under-14 title.

Leamington hosted its own grade five tournament during half term and Abigail George used this event as a warm for the Tipton tournament by winning the under-9 girls category.

William Ellis claimed first place in the under-8 boys and Sam Groom took top spot in the mixed under-10s event.
