CRICKET: HUNNINGHAM made the trip to Nether Whitacre on Saturday and were asked to bat after losing the toss.

Good knocks from Klsi (40) and Wale (61) helped Hunningham make an encouraging start.

But their innings soon fell away as Hunningham were bowled out for 201 in 45.2 overs.

In reply, Nether Whitacre never looked in trouble as they comfortably reached the required target in just 39 overs having lost two wickets.

Elsewhere Hunningham’s 2nd XI earned a losing draw at home to Nether Whitacre’s second string.

Skipper Bird won the toss and elected to bowl first .

Unfortunately – despite some good bowling – it was an afternoon of missed opportunity with five catches going down and several misfields allowing NW to scrape their way to to 199 from 45 overs .

Hunningham started well at 44/0 in reply from eight overs, but the innings soon collapsed as tight bowling ensured several of Hunningham’s batsmen were out for a duck,

Only Staniforth (42) made a contribution worth noting.

But as the tailend held firm, Hunningham did manage to end on 176/8 – meaning they suffered a losing draw.
