JACK Keating tasted success in the September Medal by the narrowest of margins at Kenilworth Golf Club on Saturday.

Players had to contend with torrential rain but it proved no problem for Keating who carded a splendid one-over-par 72, nett 66, to edge out Nick Coleman 76, nett 66, by virtue of a better back nine.

The Division B winner was Mark Wright 82, nett 67, from Stuart Macleod 79, nett 68, while John Harrison 87, nett 67, took the Division C honours from Paul Gabbitas 84, nett 68.

Keating also took the prize for the best gross score and Harrison’s welcome return to form was further rewarded with the Rabbits Chalice trophy.
