James Leggit wins season finale at Kenilworth Golf Club

JAMES Leggitt ended the season in fine style by winning the October Medal at Kenilworth Golf Club on Saturday.

Leggitt, who also landed the best gross prize, carded an impressive 77, net 69, to take the Division A honours from Johnny Carlin junior 80, nett 70.

The Division B winner was Mick Dorgan 80, nett 68, from Bob Harrison 83, nett 71.

Countback was required to determine the outcome in Division C with Paul Freelove 91, nett 73, edging out Anthony Stokes 96, nett 73, by virtue of a better back nine. Stokes did have the satisfaction of winning the Medal Cup which was run in conjunction with the competition.

Previously, the latest Extra Medal at Crewe Lane saw success for Tony Philpot who pipped Stuart Harrison on countback after they both scored 37 points.

Tom Parker amassed 41 points to win Division B from Harry Philpott 38.

Meanwhile, Nick Coleman and Michelle Morrison lifted the Morton mixed knockout competition with Ken and Lyn Harrison finishing runners-up.
