THE 2016 campaign ended on a high note for Kenilworth as they beat Water Orton in a shortened 20 over match to end the season fifth in the Warwickshire League Division One.

After persistent rain, the two sides were eventually able to start a 20 overs match with hosts Water Orton batting first and they were soon in trouble at 3 for 2.

But Lloyd with 56 and Bennett with 40 put on 83 for the fourth wicket as Water Orton made a decent total of 152 for 8 from their 20 overs, although Kenilworth did not help themselves by dropping six catches.

There were wickets for the consistent Steve Rhodes (2 for 15), Ed Ruswa (2 for 25), Joe Boyle (1 for 23) and a wicket for Dave Edmunds (1 for 22).

The Kenilworth started their reply in a positive manner, Joe Boyle with 19, skipper Chris Prophet (22) and Dave Edmunds (37) were all able partners for opening bat Tom Booker who played a classy innings of 68 not out, which included four fours and four sixes.

He put on 56 with Dave Edmunds for the second wicket and another 56 with Chris Prophet for the third wicket, as Kenilworth finished on 156 for 3 to win by seven wickets with three balls to spare. Kenilworth ending their campaign, finishing a credible fifth in Division One.
