DEAN Sparrow and Liz Brown both retained their club championship titles at Kenilworth Golf Club on Saturday.
Sparrow, who carded rounds of 73 and 74, was pushed all the way by Adrian Riddell (76 and 71) in the men’s event and required a play-off before keeping his grip on the coveted title.
Ben Hammond posted two rounds of 76 to finish third, five shots behind the top two.
Liz Brown (86 and 90) was crowned ladies champion for the second successive year with a 36-hole total of 176, finishing three shots clear of runner-up Veronique Lintin (86 and 93).
Previously, Richard Joyce and Lynda McCarthy made good use of home advantage to win the popular Kenilworth Bowl at Crewe Lane with 44 points.
Gill and Roger Snelson (Wellingborough GC) finished runners-up with 43 points ahead of Columb Harrington and Kaye Mater (Buckingham GC) 40.
