HOCKEY: A BRACE from Kerry Luckett has kept Leamington Ladies’ promotion push on track as they recorded a resounding 4-1 victory over Harborne.
Goals from Ella Bromley, Dani Black and a brace from top scorer Luckett saw Leamington cruise to a comfortable win – their ninth out of 11 league matches this season.
The result leaves Leamington just two points off the top of the table and, crucially, still puts them them in prime position for promotion for the second successive season.
It was a miserable weekend for Leamington’s men’s teams, with all three slipping to defeat.
Goals from Shaun Cuthill and James Taylor were not enough to stop the first team losing 6-2 away at Aldridge and Walsall and staying one place off the bottom of the league.
There was similar disappointment elsewhere in the men’s teams, with the second team losing by a single goal at home to Derby, while the third team were beaten 9-5 at home to Bromsgrove.
