OLD Leamington Ladies remain second-from-bottom in the Championship Midlands Two table after slumping to a 48-0 home defeat to Lichfield Seconds.
The OLs forward pack showed their strength by dominating the majority of the scrums giving Lichfield a hard time winning the ball.
They were able to smash through the Lichfield defensive line a few times with some strong lines of attack, utilising a quick ball and putting a lot of pressure on Lichfield’s defence.
However this strong attack fell short a number of times with OLs making it within a couple of metres of the try line only for Lichfield to stop them in their tracks with a turn over ball.
Lichfield’s tries were delivered by their back line runners who exploited the gaps left in a drifting OLs defence.
Quick on the ball and able to get in a number of offloads, Lichfield had OLs defence going backwards at times giving the visitors the opportunity to create gaps and bring in their tries.
