A TOTAL of 31 Spa Striders made the trip over to Hampton-In-Arden to take on the scenic Arden nine-mile event and it was Paul Edwards who once again led the team home.

Edwards’ time of 54.39 was a new personal best time over nine miles by five minutes and it was enough for him to secure 12th position overall.

He was closely followed by Chris KcKeown who also set a new personal time of 54.46 and there were also several newcomers to the course who produced excellent runs.

Ste Taylor (55.36) and Adam Notley (56.45) both recorded excellent times, along with Pete Soley whose time of 57.02 was a new personal best and Trevor Wilkinson (57.15) made up the men’s team for the Warwickshire Road Race League.

Susie Stannard showed she has the strength to carry her speed over to longer races after recording a new personal best time of 59.45 to finish as the fourth fastest lady, and she also finished first in the V35 section.

Next home for Spa Striders was Carolyn Wilkinson who finished fifth overall and first in the V45 age category in a time of 60.15. Mel Venables (61.02) was seventh and Bethan Gwynn (63.49) was 13th to complete a strong team performance for the women in the Warwickshire Road Race League.
