RUNNING: PETE Soley was the fastest Spa Strider runner at Massey Ferguson’s Easter Day race which this year was relocated to a flat 10km course at Stoneleigh Park.

In his usual effortless style, Soley crossed the finish line in a time of 35 minutes and 56 seconds to finish tenth overall.

Chris McKeown was next Strider home in new personal best time of 37.12, which placed him 17th overall and Tom Gotts also raved well, crossing the finish line in 39.45 just a week after competing in the Brighton Marathon.

Rob Mantell also recorded a new PB time, taking over two minutes of his previous best to finish in 39.56.

There was also a new PB for Gethyn Friswell (41.12), while Cam Gow (40.23), Simon Parsons (40.27), Rob Nash (42.54), Dan Martin (49.01), Sean Lonergan (50.17) and Brian Warren also competed.

Charlotte Everard took over three minutes off her previous best time to finish as the second fastest lady in 40.09.

Carolyn Wilkinson (40.44) not only finished as the fourth fastest lady, but she also came first in the V45 category while also setting a new V45 club record in the process.

Laura Peake (41.48) was rewarded for her dedicated training and knocked almost 90 seconds off her previous best.

There were also PBs by Rosie Banks (47.10), Clare Bryan (47.50) and Lucy Marcovitch (49.56), while Sue Cox (45.50), Claudine Piper (48.22), Elena Savelieva (48.55), Sandra Stokes (51.51), Claire Westrope (52.52) and Maria Mirgkizoudi (58.49) also competing.

There were more PBs further afield with Andy Graham (1:02.28) had a strong race at the Maidenhead 10-mile race, which received extra publicity for having Theresa May marshal at the event.

In a hugely impressive display of strength and endurance, Kelsey Wiberley perfectly executed an even-split Boston Marathon, recording a two-minute PB and breaking her own club record to finish in 2:50.11.
