Racing Club Warwick secure first win of the season

RACING Club Warwick secured their first win of the season by despatching Wolverhampton Casuals in a comfortable 3-0 win at Townsend Meadow.

Manager Scott Easterlow had quickly rung the changes and there were four debutants on Saturday adding to three others who were singed in the past two weeks and Hannibal Salami being brought in from the Under 23’s.

Warwick started brightly with skipper Sam Jackson firing narrowly over before new striker Miracle Okafor fired wide after some good possession play.

Racing restricted Casuals to long range efforts before an under hit back pass by Junior Mpofu almost let the number nine in but he fired wide. Okafor had a chipped effort saved and a header over before Salami hit the post with a curling free-kick and Jackson fired over from wide left.

Second half and Casuals rattled the crossbar in a decent spell of possession before Racing nerves were settled on 70 minutes when Eli Bako calmly controlled the ball from a Casuals headed clearance before shifting the ball away from the defender and firing home. Minutes later and a perfect slip through ball from Jackson set Okafor free to calmly slot home into the corner past the keeper. Warwick finished off strongly and the goal of the game came from Isaac Adegoke who ran half the length of the pitch beating four men before rifling home.

Warwick face Nuneaton Borough in the Birmingham Senior Cup on Tuesday before hosting Chelmsley Town in the FA Vase on Saturday. Kick off 3pm.
