Royal Leamington Spa riders out in force at Stoneleigh Park

ROYAL Leamington Spa riders were out in force as they hosted round six of the British Cycling West Midlands Cyclo-Cross League head at Stoneleigh Park.

More than 300 cyclists from all over the Midlands took part in competed in races covering categories from U6s to over-50s.

The racing was as competitive as ever with Clare Murphy taking second in the Senior Women category.

Andy Wearing (10th), Leon Rainsford (14th), Tom Smith (18th), Jonny Cheetham (19th) and Pete Matthews (21st) came home in the Senior Men category.




Michelle Paget took second place in the Vet 40M Women race while Jason McNulty also took second in the Vet 40m Men event while Steve Jefferies came home in 20th and Paul Daniels in 26th.

In the Vet 45m category, Gerard Scott led the RLSCC contingent in 15th place and was followed by Andy Taylor (18th) and Jack Gammon (22nd).


Mike Vaughan crossed the line in fourth in the Vet 50M race while Val Vanehill clinched second in the Vet 55W.

There was a second place for Andy Webb in the Vet 55M while Mike Snell took fifth in the Vet 60M.

Elsewhere, Ian Forrester (4th) took part in the Vet 65M category.
