Southam teenager Sedgwick moves closer to dream Le Man appearance

MOTORSPORT: SOUTHAM teenager Alex Sedgwick moved one step closer to his dream of racing in the 24 hour Le Mans race after being shortlisted to race in the final round of the UK LMP3 Cup.

Since the 18-year-old started racing at the age of eight, it has been his dream to race in Le Mans.

This dream moved one step closer this week when Alex was informed he had been chosen by Sports Insure, Bute Motorsport and United Autosports as one of the shortlisted drivers to race in the final round of the Henderson Insurance LMP3 Cup.

The short list has been created from drivers from all corners of the globe, all chasing the opportunity of racing with the 2016 European Le Mans Series Champions, United Autosports, in one of their Ligier LMP3 cars.

Sedgwick said: “Being selected as one of the final ten drivers is fantastic and gives me a chance of taking one more step towards my dream of racing at Le Mans.

“The final decision is now down to a public on-line vote, so I will be doing everything I can to win over as many voters.

“I will be so grateful for all the votes I receive.”

The winner of the online vote will be announced at the penultimate round of the Henderson Insurance LMP3 Cup at the Snetterton race circuit in Norfolk in August.
