RIDERS from Royal Leamington Spa Cycling Club got into gear to compete in a special event in the shape of the Eileen Sheridan Open Ten-Mile Time Trial.
The event was hosted by Coventry Cycling Club in celebration of the many achievements of their long-standing president Eileen Sheridan, who was at one time the Women’s National 25-mile Time Trial champion.
Of the Spa Ladies, Jade Anstis finished highest in 12th, with Frances Lammyman 14th and Helene Wright 15th.
These were good individual performances in a competitive field and collectively were enough to win the trio the fastest Ladies Team title as their collective time of 1 hour, 15 minutes and 16 seconds pushed Banbury Star CC into second place.
For the Spa men, in a much larger field, Ralph Anstis was 32nd and Clive Parpworth 85th.
Hayley Simmonds, riding for AeroCoach, won the Ladies title, completing the ten-mile course in 20 minutes and 31 seconds.
In the men’s event, Travis Bramley (Plymouth Corinthian CC) came home in 19 minutes and 10 seconds to take first place.
