SPA Striders women reclaimed the Hilly 100 trophy on Sunday and in doing so set a new course record in the process.
The team, which was made up of Caroline Whitehouse, Charlotte Everard, Laura Peake, Fiona Edwards, Susan Cox, Carolyn Wilkinson, Kate Gadsby, Susie Stannard, Melissa Venables and Clare Hinton, got round the challenging 100-mile course around the Cotswolds in 12 hours two minutes.
They finished just a couple of minutes ahead of Kenilworth (who also beat the old course record) in a race where the lead switched places several times.
The Men’s A team broke the 11-hour barrier after finishing in ten hours and 54 minutes to claim third place overall.
