AN IMPRESSIVE 23 Spa Striders took on the soggy Green Leek 10.5km event.
Ian Allen (37:45) was 4th overall, with Chris McKeown (38:02) close behind in 5th overall and Clare Hinton as second lady in 46:15.
Also racing were David Chantrey (44:00), Rob Mantell (44:09), Rob Egan (45:11), Lloyd Harriman (46:54), Doug Rattray (48:17), Mairi Walker (48:25), Matt Leydon (48:47), Anne Hurrell (49:13), Nigel Fox (51:45), Lucy Marcovitch (52:36), Lucy Hartwright (53:01), Jude Baum (52:59), Peter Scofield (53:40), Ruth Tennant (53:40), Lorraine Parsons (54:56), James Robbins (55:25), Elena Savelieva (59:59), Julie Heaton (01:00:00), Kathleen McCann (01:04:58) and Kathryn Houliston (01:08:43).
Jack Gammon (26:23.20) completed the Centurion Autumn 100 in the pouring rain.
Mel Venables (8:48:29) was fifth overall, secpnd lady and first in her age group at the Pony Express Ultra Marathon, running 60 miles over two days in the New Forest.
Abi Morton (4:21) was first Strider home at the Yorkshire Marathon, knocking 25 minutes off her previous personal best over the distance.
Natalie Dellar (4:40) came in next, followed shortly by Ellen Powell (4:43), who also took 25-plus minutes off her PB.
Billy Morton (4:45) battled with a knee injury to complete the marathon.
At the Manchester Half Marathon, Fiona Edwards (1:38.48) flew round, Amanda Bonjour (1:47.59) achieved a new PB, with Dave Lithgow (2:02.03) and Gary Perkins (2.09:45) completing the Strider contingent.
In Birmingham, Richard Sharman (1:34.00), Greg Harris (1:37.56), Ian Davis (1:39.57 – PB) and Susan Locke 1:52.27 completed the half marathon.
At the Goodwood Festival of Running Half Marathon, Dan Flemming (1:27.12) stormed to a new PB, finishing eighth overall and third in the V35 category.
Liz Draper (1:58) completed the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London whilw Chris Jones (2:05) paced a friend around the Leicester Half Marathon in 2:05.
Elsewhere, Charlotte Everard (57:58) was fourth lady at the Studland Stampede, Sue Cox (46:16 – first V50) and Ves Hill (57:18) ran well at the Daventry 10km and Emma Teevan (59:25) completed the Draycote Water 10km.
Pete Soley (59:47) and Gethyn Friswell (1:05:38) represented the club at the Bedford Duathlon.
Gethyn finished ninth in his age group and first-timer Pete was fourth in his age group.
