SPA Striders were once again well represented at the weekend with Andrew Bonjour leading the way in the Nottingham Sprint Triathlon.

He completed the course in one hour, two minutes and 23 seconds and was followed by Amanda Wiggins (1:18:12), both recording huge PBs, Doug Rattray (1:13:46) and Lucy Tugwell (1:20:17) who was competing in her first open water event.

Chris McKeown came home in first place at the Firkin 5k.

On the other side of the Atlantic, Tim Beresford completed his 50th parkrun in Whistler, Canada, and on the other side of the Baltic, Sandra Stokes finished the Riga half marathon in 1:56:40 – tenth in her age group.




Closer to home, Lorraine Parsons and Claire Hinton raced the Coventry triathlon, finishing in 1:24:23 and 1:20:20 respectively.

Hinton placed fourth lady and second in her age group.


Sunday was warm for racing with Chris Wilson (1:35:52) finishing a hot Draycote half marathon while Dexter Teale ran a PB in 1:29:00 at the Hackney half marathon.

Abi and Billy Morton completed the Worcester half marathon in 2:12:37 and 2:03:21 respectively while Monika Coleman was fourth lady and 18th overall at the off-road Shindig in the Shire half.

Elsewhere, Andrew Pope (46:32) raced the Manchester 10k and just down the road Kathleen McCann (2:20) completed the Liverpool rock and roll half.
