SPA Striders were out in force at the Kenilworth Half Marathon Massive, a Warwickshire Road Race League event.
Coming in second in his age category and 8th overall, first Strider home was Chris McKeown (1:17:38) followed by Neil Smith (1:17:51), Ian Allen (1:21:03), David Mills (1:24:08), Chris Liddle (1:24:46), Simon Parsons (1:25:38), Simon Ludford (1:27:38), Chris Wilson with a PB going sub-90 minutes (1:28:43), Pete Teevan (1:31:29), Robert Egan (1:33:40), Steve Hession (1:34:12), Rob Mantell (1:35:33), Hartwig Busch (1:40:59), Ben Cohen (1:41:13), Andy Pope (1:46:13), Lloyd Harriman (1:46:39), Andrew Roach (1:47:53), Matt Leydon (1:48:38), Mike Cox (1:50:05), Billy Morton (1:50:35), Simon Reiter (1:53:14), Doug Rattray (1:54:12), Kevin Baskerville (1:55:18), Eugene McNally (1:58:49), Ash Hogg (1:59:23), Paul Harris (1:59:57), Dave Lithgow (2:00:39), James Robbins running his first half marathon (2:05:57) and Gary Perkins (2:14:12).
The ladies were lead home by Clare Hinton (1:36:02) followed by Carolyn Wilkinson (1:41:33), Katherine Lambeth (1:45:17), Mairi Walker (1:48:57), Ruth Tennant (1:49:21), Nadine lee (1:51:47), Jude Baum, 4th FV55 (1:52:14), Jenny Own (1:52:48), Clare Bryan (1:54:46), Emma Bish (1:55:17), Sandra Stokes(1:56:52), Catherine Friggens (1:57:43), Kay Adams (2:07:00), Amy Thompson (2:07:12) and Abi Morton (2:08:49).
In Dorset, Claire Murphy placed fourth lady at The Beast – a trail race of almost 13 miles with 1,821ft of elevation.
She finishing the course in just under two hours.
Up in the Peak District, Zoe Beale knocked around three hours off her 2017 PB in the Bullock Smithy Ultra, finishing the 56 miles in around 14 hours.
At the Southam Sprint Triathlon – a 400m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run – Andrew Bonjour finished in overall third place (0:59:00) and was followed by Helen Wright in third female (1:11:31), Fiona Edwards as sixth female (1:12:53), Lorraine Parsons (1:19:00) and Claire Westrope (1:28:52).
