FOOTBALL: BRAKES boss Paul Holleran revealed star striker Courtney Baker-Richardson is likely to have played his last game in a Brakes shirt.
The 21-year-old, who helped Brakes secure promotion to the Vanarama National League North with a dramatic extra-time strike in last year’s playoff final, spent a few days at Leicester City before going on trial at Swansea.
News of Baker-Richardson’s possible move came as a shock to Leamington fans, but Holleran admitted a deal will ‘probably happen’ – though underlined nothing is official yet.
He said: “A few people have been watching our games. The deal has moved quicker than we thought.
“But it’s probably going to happen, though nothing is official.
“I’m delighted for him. He’s worked hard and had a lot of knocks.
“He’s progressed over the last 18 months and people have noticed that.
“At 21 years of age he now has the chance to go into the professional game. We’ll try and find another one.”
