JUST three points separated the top seven pairs in a hotly-contested Member/Guest competition at Kenilworth Golf Club on Saturday.

Steve Taylor and Phil Green (Atherstone) emerged triumphant with an excellent 45 points, one ahead of Paresh Patel and Chris Barnes (The Warwickshire) who finished runners-up by virtue of a better back nine than David Sheepy and Tony Gregory (The Warwickshire) and Adrian Penny and David Orme (Drayton Park).

Steve Holt and Phil Mold (Henlle Park) finished fifth with 43 points from Pete Bennett and Peter Holt (Coventry) 43 and James Leggitt and Simon Inchley (Coventry) 42.

Nearest the pin winners were Dave Orme (7th), Craig Pitt (10th) and Pete Bennett (18th).

Meanwhile, Luke Swinnerton celebrated a hole-in-one on the 4th which was the highlight of the Philpott Salver at Crewe Lane on Sunday.

But the ace was not enough to figure in the prizes with Patrick McGowan and Colin Smith taking top spot after racking up an impressive 46 points.

Stuart and John Harrison finished runners-up with 45 points from Paresh Patel and Adrian Henshaw 43, Patrick Fleming and Mick Rossborough 43, Mick Dorgan and Paul Duke 43 and Dan Allum and David Garrett 43.
