RUNNING: TEN striders travelled to Hook Norton at the weekend to run in the Hooky Six Mile road race.
Part of the club’s summer series, the event offered points to the fastest athletes – and Striders’ Paul Edwards was the first Spa athlete to finish in 35:31, knocking over a minute off last year’s time.
Ste Taylor (36:57) finished second while James Hartwright (41:20) ended up third.
Graham Donoghue (45:56) Doug Rattray (46:26) and Dave Lithgow (51:26) completed the men’s turnout.
Mel Venables (40:36) claimed maximum points for the summer series and was the fourth lady home, finishing ahead of Carolyn Wilkinson (42:26), Claudine Piper (48:24) and Lorraine Parsons (50:17).
