Tricky conditions for golfers at Texas Scramble in Kenilworth

GOLFERS had to contend with some tricky, windy conditions in a keenly contested Texas Scramble at Kenilworth Golf Club on Sunday.

The quartet of Ben Hammond, Andrew Bailey, Mark Tutin and Stephen Linford adapted well to emerge triumphant with 68, nett 61-and-1/8.

Club captain Tony Ranger, Nick Congrave, Geoff Edmunds and Ray Miller 69, nett 61-and-5/8, finished runners-up from Simon Hegan, Darren Watson, Jim Lynch and Bev Thomas 69, nett 62, and James Leggitt, Neil Chatwin, Malcolm Sparrow and Terry Martin 69, nett 62-and-3/8.

Nearest the pin winners were Simon Hegan (10th) and James Leggitt (18th).




Meanwhile, James Lamond won the November Extra Medal with 37 points from Trevor Lindsey 36.

The Division B winner was Simon Taylor with 38 points from Stephen Linford 37.
